Bosch Opens New GermanFactory to Help Triple Production of Solar CellsRobert Bosch GmbH expanded production of solar cells used to make electricity-generating panels at a new plant in central Germany. Bosch Solar Energy opened a crystalline solar cell factory in Arnstadt, Germany today, the company said on its website. Bosch aims to triple production capacity to 630 megawatts annually with the new site. Installations of solar panels around the world may reach a record this year, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance estimates. Most solar power equipment is made with either silicon materials, like those made by Bosch, or so-called thin- film technology.
